Plantar fasciitis occurs when the plantar fascia is inflamed. This is caused by irregular foot structures such as flat or curved feet and other reasons such as heavy body weight, standing or walking for a long time, wearing high heels regularly or doing a repetitive jumping exercise. The plantar fascia acts like a shock-absorbing spring that supports your feet while walking or running. It also helps to push your feet to move and preserve the foot shape.
The pain is intense in the morning, especially when stepping down from the bed or when standing after sitting for a long time. The patients can feel some pain spots on the foot palm. They will feel pain as soon as they start walking after resting but the pain will be gone after they walk for some time.
